Rewire not Retire

When you think about retiring or leaving full-time work, what are your thoughts and feelings?

Are you excited, enthusiastic or apprehensive and fearful, or do you fluctuate between these very natural emotions at a time of transition?

Retirement is just another stage in your life, and within this stage there are many phases. Robert Ashley a US sociologist identified six phases. Which phase are you in?

When you reflect on the previous stages of your life, education, employment, setting up home etc., and all you have experienced in those past 25 to 30 years or so, remember, when you approach retirement you may have that much time again, health permitting.  It is important to plan for this time. Society provides plenty of support systems and structures for those earlier transitions in life, but there is no system and very little support for the retirement stage and its various phases.

To transition from fulltime work to your new chapter is a process which our Rewire not Retire programme will help you navigate and plan.  This Retirement Planning programme is uniquely designed using our T.R.U.E. model to facilitate individuals address the complexities of modern retirement and to create an exciting and fulfilling future. The non-financial elements needs as much attention and planning as the financial.

  • I am Retired but it is not ideal, wondering is this it?

Sharing your wisdom and knowledge to the next generation gives a sense of fulfilment and meaning and contribution to the world.   It is a part of the retirement process.
